Do Now: Check your mailbox - clean it out, but DON’T THROW ANYTHING AWAY YET! The only thing that should be left in there is your Skills Book. Then, pick up a Half-Time Writing Survey from the front table and complete THE FRONT ONLY.
After the Do now, students completed the back of a writing survey as a way to set goals for the coming semester.
Then, we organized our binders - threw out old papers that are no longer needed, filed away all the papers just passed back. See the attached document to see what the tables of contents should look like.
Finally, we played a quick game to review a few key classroom procedures including Do Nows, end of class procedures, and what to do when you are absent.
